Easy Homemade Hummus

Nothing is easier than just buying a case of Hummus, but it will NEVER taste as good as this. We skip the hassle of boiling the chickpeas, because really, who wants to watch chickpeas boil? This is the traditional flavor — nothing fancy. Just chickpeas, garlic, salt, tahini, and lemon juice. Oh so good!

Description

Nothing is easier than just buying a container of Hummus, but it will NEVER taste as good as this. We skip the hassle of boiling the chickpeas, because really, who wants to watch chickpeas boil? This is the traditional flavor — nothing fancy. Just chickpeas, garlic, salt, tahini, and lemon juice. Oh so good!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans of chickpeas, rinsed and drained if you are watching your sodium intake. Reserve the water if you are not.
  • 1.5 cups water. Use the reserved water from the canned hummus if you wish.
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 tahini (store-bought or pre-made)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. It should have a thick and creamy consistency. If it is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until it is thinner.
  2. That’s it! Enjoy!
